Eddie Cochran, was a Brilliant Singer Songwriter, and ever better Rock N Roller. He would have been a bigger star than Elvis. These old Rock N Rollers like the equally Great Chuck Berry were original. A lot of Rock and Metal Bands, have a lot to thank them for EG .The 3 Cord Trick. What every Band uses. I was a young man and close to his age (2 years younger) and remember clearly when this song came out. Sadly, this excellent singer took his "three steps to heaven", dying in a car crash that ended his all-too-short life and very promising music career. This song, to me, was his best--so lyrical, vibrant, balanced, poetic, and generally musical. And ,need I say it, whimsically sad, given his coming circumstance. May he incarnate here or in another plane where he can bring equal or better pleasure and delight to others with his talents and abilities. Blessings!

Hah ! I share a birthday with him, only I came along 21 years later. He was 21 when he left us. I was born in Bristol, which is where he left the Hippodrome on that fateful night. This is starting to get creepy :(

Yes song made it to No.1 in UK but failed to enter Top 100 of Billboard. Americans were to busy listening to losers: Anka, Avalon, Rydell etc. and ignored the real rockers . . .Shame!
